What happens in those quiet moments when you're near 50, living in the 'burbs with kids and husband in tow, teaching law to undergrads, and a hopeful liberal? You grab a coffee and read a few blogs. Write one.

Blogging My Life
[Hysterical laughter is heard.]
My desktop computer crashed.
Hahahahaha!
Hahahahahahaha!
[She quietly goes to the bathroom with a noose and a Bud Light.]
Yeah, it's bad. Real bad. Luckily I backed up the hard drive about a month ago (so all my school stuff is intact on my backup drive) - not great, will have lost some stuff, but not much really. Well...some pictures. Which is a bummer. Oh well. Hopefully, I can get the thing up and running - hopefully it's fixable. Otherwise...new computer the next time I have $700 lying around. Sigh.

Oh no! Crashed hard, you mean, I take it?
I hope everything's recoverable!

At least you're online - I'm without the internet - at a cafe as we speak, internet junkie that I am - so it's a quick comment. See you next week...
Oh no! Thank God you're backed up!! Hope things work out and don't drive you nuts in the meantime.
That backup saved my life, Kazumi. I don't know what I would have done without that portable drive. Good lord!
Patrick - hope you get the internet up and running right quick!
